The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The book is a collection of 12 thriller short stories. The locations in which the stories run around are perfect to create enthusiasm among the readers. Even small architectural elements like doors , door handles, switchboards play their important role in creating required suspense in the narration. Among these 12 stories, one had a house in a village of Norway, whose every architectural detail had been told out in words, which came out as real as they were plans/sections in drawings. The house is located in woods having a wrought iron gate which creaks when opened or closed . The stone pavement with grass coming out of corners leads to a small staircase which leads to the main door and a small verandah having a swing and a bird's nest hanging from the roof . there is only one window on the upper floor which can be seen from the gate, and a very dim yellow light can be seen coming out of the window. Its ground floor had a kitchen on the left and living space  in the middle and a wooden staircase, which makes creaking sound while climbing leads to the bedroom of the owner. The owner and his wife are found lying dead on the floor with no blood signs. When inspected, the door rail had a mark of bullet hit.  But there was no gun around. As such, many of the elements of design helped Holmes in its inspection one or the other way.

Fun n Food Village

The most memorable place I visited in my childhood was Fun n Food Village ,Gurgaon,at the age of 9,with my uncle's family and his family friends.I was new to the city 'Delhi' and  liked the hustle bustle all around very much.As we children got out of the bus in front of the park entrance,we got so crazy to enjoythe rides, etc. The ticket counter at the entrance was in shapes of different famous cartoon characters of that time , which were attractive for children. We entered and found ourselves on cloud nine ,as we saw huge giant wheels and other rides all around. That was most impressive moment as one could  imagine, standing at a place, how much he has got all around to enjoy. Before we could start on to them, the elders with us asked to first have food instead as it was already afternoon. I thought they will take us to some indoor restaurant which were nearby, but they decided to have lunch on the grass itself .Having food sitting on grass had a very new and amazing experience. After having lunch,we started moving towards the rides. The paved pathways leading to different amusement arenas where one could find everytime a new junction or new space which never got repeated . Besides there were green grass and small trees/shrubs all around. Finally we started going to the rides and that was the most craziest experience I had ever had. In the end, we reached a place which had stone seating on its three sides and a platform in the centre, where people were singing or dance or cracking jokes on mike, in front of the crowd. I felt it to be very interesting as one who once came to the stage , used to forget about the daily routine and did whatever he felt on stage. Now, when I grew old,I realize that it was the first open air theatre I had seen in my life. After that I dont remember anything, we might have come back to our homes.
